13 Barrels Microbrewery Geopier GeoConcrete® Column

Description:

The project consisted of a Micro-Brewery to be located downtown Bathurst overlooking the waterfront.

Subsurface Conditions:

Soil conditions consisted of 30 feet of soft organics, mostly mulch and sawdust, over silty sand.

AMCON Solution:

AMCON designed and installed the Geopier GeoConcrete® Columns (GCC) which are rigid inclusions made out of concrete and embedded up to 30 feet deep and overlaid with a load transfer platform reinforced with geogrid to support the structure.

The high cost of piling or excavation and replacement prohibited the economical development of this project until the Geopier Ground Improvement System was considered.
