Description:
The Maple is a 21 storey mix commercial and residential development with 3 levels of underground parking on the corner of Hollis and Sackville Streets in Halifax, NS.

AMCON Solution:
Excavation shoring and rock stabilization were required to facilitate the construction of the 3 storey underground parking garage which was to be constructed in close proximity to the property line.

A soldier pile and lagging wall was installed to retain the loose overburden soils and tied back using an internal whaler system and post-tensioned tie-back anchors.

Exposed bedrock was stabilized using a combination of 486 post-tensioned rock anchors and a rock fall protection system. Shotcrete was also applied to stabilize loose areas and fill irregular surfaces of the exposed bedrock.
