Helical Piles

Helical Piles are typically recommended for use in homogeneous sands and/ or clays.

Helical piles are available in a wide range of shapes and sizes with many different helical combinations available depending on the project requirements.  The two basic shapes consist of RCS (rounded corner square) shaft piles which range in sizes from 1-1/2″ to 2″ square and pipe piles which range in sizes from 2-7/8″ OD to 36″ OD which are available in standard pipe schedule sizes with either a plain or galvanized finish.  

The helical combinations can also vary widely with single, double, triple and quadruple helical combinations available, with sizes of helices ranging from 6″ to 36″ in diameter and larger.   Normally, a helical pile has helices that progress up the shaft from smaller to larger sizes and the number of helices rarely exceeds more than 4 since it has been determined that the load capacity of the pile is not greatly improved beyond this point.
