Helical Soil Nails
Soil nail walls are another type of earth retention system. They can provide temporary or permanent stabilization of cuts and slopes. Soil anchors are pre-manufactured steel anchor elements consisting of a central steel shaft and several helical shaped bearing plates spaced continuously along the shaft.
Soil anchors are installed by rotating, or screwing into the ground until the required nail length is achieved. Each helical bearing plate is manufactured to a uniform pitch and spacing so that one common thread is formed when the soil anchor is screwed into the soil. The screw is then attached to the wall face.
Some attributes of the Helical Soil Anchors are:
- Instant loading with no cure times
- Predictable capacities based on installation torque
- Modular system installed to any depth
